12 volt auto charger

    This is a new in box charger and when I plug this into the 2597 new in box to me . A message comes up and says DON'T use with this GPS. Did Garmin make a packing mistake and I'm stuck with it ?

    A bit more information is required:-
    1) what is the name / model number / maker of the 12 Volt auto charger.
    2) What exactly does the on-screen message say when the charger is plugged in
    3) I'm guessing that the satvav is the Garmin Nuvi 2597
    4) Was the charger supplied with the Nuvi or was it purchased separately
