Hello everyone, thanks for letting me join this forum. I purchased my garmin 64st for riding my ATV. I am not very good in the woods direction wise. This Is my first hand held gps. I have read the manuals but I am more confused. Could someone give me a PK on how to mark where I am, select waypoints along the way, mark my last stop, then follow this route back to where I started. I know this is asking a lot, but I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance

IMHO, just read the manual once more. Gôrmin has an unprecedented track record in the clearliness of its manuals.

There is no point in telling the OP to read the manual again, your post just appears to be another advert for Garmin

Your GPSmap64st has a 'MARK' button, this is used to create a waypoint at your current location, you can use 'Mark' as often as you wish, each waypoing will be auto named for you, but you can re-name them with something more memorable e.g. CAR, CABIN, WATERFALL etc.

Having created waypoints, it is then possible to 'goto' any selected waypoint, however the GPS will show you a streight line path to the selected waypoint, to back-track a trip you can view a automatically generated Track so that you can follow each turn you made previously

Pardon already. I'm just a big friend of Garmin units, since 1996 I'm addicted to them. But no commercial relationship whatsoever!
Just to add some couleur locale to this forum I have put the name Garmin phonetically, that is the way it's pronounced in some Austrian regions. Obviously it has not arrived.

Taking advantage of a GPS device as a first timer is tricky, I too got one 10 days back and took a while to understand and use it efficiently. However, there are lot of videos on the youtube on how to use a GPSMAP 64 series device. Here is one I found for you

When I create a new route, the map that shows on the garmin 64st is a previous route that I created. So I end up putting a new route over an old one. How do I create a new route and start off with a fresh new map with no route lines on it.

    Tks in advance
