What I'm looking for specifically is a waypoint list like one found from Waypoint Manager on Garmin Handhelds. I can't stand looking at a line on a map and following it. I find a list of waypoints and their relative location far better for off-trail navigation. This is for Android and I have tried 6 or 8 different ones to no avail.

I hope this has not been threaded before and apologize if so.

    Thanks

Have a look at OsmAnd, this Open Street Maps for Android has similar features to a Garmin handheld GPS, you can download Waypoints / Points Of Interest as favourites and you can download Tracks to follow (if you change your mind)

The free version had almost a full set of features without adverts and you can download all maps for off-line navigating anywhere in the world - If you haven't already, give it a try
