Our Drive 60 is showing signs of dying, mainly the battery can almost no longer be charged to last more than 10 minutes or so. I was thinking of getting a newer unit such as the DriveSmart 66 that also has a few new features such as traffic etc. But if we can't get Karen's voice on it it's almost a showstopper; she's been all over the country with us and we'd really miss her if she's not there!
You should be able to copy 'Karen's' voice file from the Drive 60 if it is not supplied on the new unit, the voice files are found in a /Voice folder on the Drive 60 and should be copied to the same location on the new unit :-
NOTE :- On some units voices need to be added using Garmin Express >> [select unit] >> Tools & Content >> Utilities >> Language files, There are two types of voice file, one has fixed recorded messages, eg :- "Turn Left", "Make a U Turn" etc., others use TTS (Text To Speech) technology, where the unit can say any text it can read eg. the name of the road, so you might get :- " Turn Right on Main Street", these voices are usually shown with "Say Street Names" under their title
