    Hi

I have the Camper 760 satnav, I've owned it about 5 years and it's been great but we have recently noticed that when I enter coordinates into it they seem to be about 0.25 of a mile out from the position they should be. If I enter the postcode or address everything is fine. It's like the coordinate grid is in the wrong place somehow. I have updated the device, reset it and updated it again just now but I still have the same problem.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this please?

    Many thanks

I've just changed the coordinate format from h ddd.mm.mmm to h ddd.dddd and it now is spot on. OK great but I prefer the original setting

You can use the original h ddd.mm.mmm setting if you prefer, but you would have to convert to this format, you have been supplied with co-ordinates in h ddd.dddd format so you would need to convert them before entering in the old original format

There are some notes on this (Click HERE)

What I would like to do is have the device point to the correct location straight away using h ddd.mm.mmm which are the ones I'm given, not quater of a mile away. The OEM GPS fitted to the van sends me exactly there but I don't like the interface or way it gives me the directions, it hides other driver information. There must be a way of setting the h ddd.mm.mmm and the h ddd.dddd coordinates for the same location so they actually point to the same place?

Did you take a look at the examples in post #3?, these two co-ordinated point to the same place :-
    2019-08-11_09.50.11.jpg

06579 has been converted to 3.947 because one is decimal (Base 10) and the other is Minutes (a 60th. of a degree), if your satnav is set to format 1 then you must enter format 1 numbers, if it is set to format 2 then you must enter format 2 numbers

Yes, if i enter with format 1 on the Garmin: N53.22514 W004.51551 it takes me to point A

If I enter with format 2 on the Garmin N53.13.310 W004.30.560 it takes me to point B

If I enter with format 2 on the VW satnav N53.13.310 W004.30.560 it takes me to point A

Both sets of coordinates are correct for point A but in format 2 the Garmin sends me elsewhere if that makes sense. I am changing the format type in the tools menu before changing the type of coordinate I enter. No matter where I am in europe the h ddd.mm.mmm format is consistently about quarter of a mile out

Ok, here are your co-ordinates from the first line on post #6 :-

    . . . . . . . Numbers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Format
    1. N53.22514 W4.51551 . . . . . hddd.ddddd
    2. N53 13.508 W4 30.931 . . . . hddd mm.mmm
    3. N53 13 31.0 W4 30 56.0 . . . hddd mm ss.s
All 3 lines above are your Point A

If you set your garmin to format 1 and use the line 1 numbers you get point A

If you set the Garmin to format 2 and use line 2 numbers you get point A
If you set the Garmin to format 2 and use line 3 numbers you get point B

if you set the VW to format 3 and use line 3 numbers you get point A

So you have the VW in format 3 NOT format 2
