I tried many apps that exploit my Android smartphone (Honor 9 lite) and buid a GPX file with time and gotags.
When I open those files with a gps viewer (I tried several), they show a straight lint that goes from my starting to my endpoint.

Maybe thi is correct - o maybe I do something wrong.

    Would anybody know?

    Thank you.

Which App. did you use to create the GPX file?
Which Apps. are you using to display the created GPX file?

You can create a GPX Track file using the OSMAnd App (This is free to use), then load this GPX file onto a different smartphone running the OSMAnd App. to display the Track - give it a try

I tried wiht at least 5 trackers and 4 or 5 viewers. I'm sure that I make a mistake somewhere.

In OSMAnd to create a GPX file :-
    open-menus.jpg >> Plugins >> Trip Recording

In OSMAnd to View a recorded (or imported) GPX :-
    open-menus.jpg >> Configure Map >> GPX Files
