While copying some video files to my GPS, there was a power surge that shut down my computer and GPS. So, the following could possibly be a hardware issue.

Later while thumbing through some video files, an obscure Windows CE6 error message popped up, which I dismissed. Ever sense then, the GPS unit has been skipping and pausing every 2-3 seconds. Media players and the GPS navigation software have been effected. I tried doing a hard reset several times, but the problems still persist.

Is there away to re-flash the internal Flash ROM running Windows CE6? I would prefer not to return it. Thanks for any help.

    Device: MediaTek Generic GPS
    ROM: V.912C.211100.120222.128M
    APP Version: V2.1ABF-NUI20-HD-EN
    System ID: 0018e420-09000000-00000000-00000001
Windows Embedded CE v6.00 (Build 0 on Jul 8 2011)

    Sincerely,

    Renick Marsh

Look to see if you have a reset 'button' or dip on the facia and try resetting the unit from there.
(no guarantee I only received my unit yesterday and am wading through the manuals still)
