Many thanks. I have a feeling that if they are not using the SoC mentioned above it is one that is very similar.It has been reported that the STA8088EXG is used in the Etrex10, this device is a Silicon on Chip (SoC) meaning that it is single chip that combines a GNSS receiver and CPU, eg :-
