For Aussie users. Quoted from an email sent to me:-

GME has recently released Australian City Navigator v6.01. This new version
is a replacement for the previous Australian City Navigator v6.0 and has
been re-released to correct an issue where some street names were
abbreviated, making them difficult to find in an address search.

The new Australian City Navigator V6.01 Update CDROM is now available from
your nearest GME branch office (see contact list below)

For customers who are still using Australian City Navigator v5 or earlier,
v6.01 is a major update that provides full Australian coverage including
residential street detail in rural towns, secondary and minor rural roads
and additional Points of Interest (POIs) that were not included in previous
versions. In fact v6.01 has more than double the amount of street content of

    What does it Cost

Customers who presently have Australian City Navigator v6.0 can update to
v6.01 for free. Simply request an update CDROM from your nearest GME branch

If you are presently using Australian City Navigator v5 and you purchased or
registered it after April 1, 2005 you are eligible to update to the new
    v6.01 at no charge.

If you purchased and registered Australian City Navigator v5 (or v4) before
April 1, 2005, there is an update fee of US$125, payable direct to Garmin at
    the time of registration.

How to I go about it

To upgrade to Australian City Navigator v6.01, simply contact your nearest
GME branch office (see contact list below) and request a copy of the
"Australian City Navigator v6.01 Update CDROM". The CDROM itself is free and
will be mailed to you at no charge.

To update your maps, you will need to install the Update CDROM onto your PC.
Because it is an Update version, it will require you to have your previous
version of Australian City Navigator already loaded onto your PC, otherwise
the update installation will not proceed. Once the update is installed you
can then transfer the maps to your Garmin GPS navigator.

    Memory Requirements

Australian City Navigator v6.01 now requires around 130 MB of memory for a
full installation onto your Garmin GPS navigator. The previous version 5
maps only required around 60 MB. If your GPS is presently fitted with a 64
MB or 128 MB memory card you may wish to consider upgrading to a 256 MB
memory card. For those who do not wish to upgrade their GPS memory card or
if your GPS unit has a fixed internal memory, you can opt to load just the
sections of Australian City Navigator that you require, up to the memory
limitations of your unit or memory card.

To request your Australian City navigator v6.01 Update CDROM, please contact
your nearest GME branch office as follows:
