Hi: I have a simple question: I am considering the purchase of a good GPS receiver similar to the Garmin Montana. But, would it give me more accurate results than the self contained gps chip in my iPad? Should I spend the money? Thanks for the advice!

If your only concern is positional accuracy then the latest iPad (with Glonass), will be about the same accuracy as the Montana, dedicated GPSs do have other advantages such as :- waterproof, electronic altimeter / compass, battery life, a better shape & screen for outdoor use etc. but accuracy alone wouldn't be that much better
