I had recently acquired a Magellan 1400 GPS... It worked fine for a couple weeks, but I wanted to see if there were any updated maps or anything.

So I installed the PC Software and hooked up the 1400 when advised...

According to the PC software, there were no updates. So I disconnected the 1400. It recycled and rebooted and now I get a message

    SD Card Has Been Removed
    Program Will Restart
Please Insert SD Card With Map

I didn't even know this unit had an SD Card..

I found the SD Card under a black sticker. I removed and re-inserted the card. Same thing..

I put in a new SD Card and than ran the Magellan update .exe..

    Magellan_Roadmate_1400_US_3_12_Rel2.exe

Same thing.. Says SD Card has been removed..

Any one have an idea how I can bring my 1400 back to life??

Thanx in advance for any hints or tips...

You could try a reset, try holding the power switch for a minute or so. There may be a spot where you can insert a paper clip. Let us know what happens.
Always remove from computer using 'safe to remove hardware' message.
