    Hi all,

I was hoping to be able to display off-road tracks created in Basecamp for navigation on a DriveSmart 66.
Can't find a way to do it yet. I can export the routes to the device and are located in the GPX folder of the internal storage.
    Is it possible?

    Many thanks,
    Joe

On handheld walking / hiking Garmin GPSs they use two types of data that can be used for navigation, they are ROUTES and TRACKS, Routes must be used with a map feature like a road, path etc. whereas Tracks are just a series of points that don't use any map features, some GPSs for cars (Satnavs) only allow Routes and others allow both Routes and Tracks

To use stored Routes you would enter something like :-
Main Screen >> Apps. >> Trip Planner (or Route Planner) >> select Route

    Routes stored at location :-
    /Garmin/GPX/*.gpx

To View stored Tracks you would enter something like :-
Main Screen >> Apps. >> Where I've Been >> Select date of stored Track

    Track stored at location :-
    /GPX/*.gpx

However I am not sure that it is possible to download Tracks to your Drivesmart66, in this case you won't be able to do what you want

    Thank you Groom-Nebie,

Just tried that, can't find routes or tracks.
I'm new at this, is it possible to save all my routes as a standalone map??

    Many thanks

The route planner will only allow manual point selection, the menu and sd card icons are blanked out!!

I am not sure where the Routes you want to save are, so :-

To save Routes created in Basecamp as a gpx file highlight Routes and then File >> Export >> Export selection

To send Routes to satnav highlight Routes and right click >> Send To >> select satvav

To copy Routes from a satnav connect to a computer and copy gpx files from /Garmin /GPX folder, The computer may create 2 or 3 drive letters for your satnav so look in all of them for the /Garmin/GPX folder

I don't know what you want to do here

    Hi Nuvi-Nebie,

Once again thanks for your assistance. I will have to play around with this setup to get familiar with how it all works.

In the route planner I am trying to open saved routes but it doesn't display any.

    Cheers
