Does anybody know if the Drivesmart 51 LMT-S (or any of the "Drive" units) output NMEA data from the USB port? I stumbled upon this cable that's made for prior models "Power Data Cable, 010-11131-00"
It seems to have the usb connector to interface with the Drivesmart 51.

On a similar note, Garmin's FMI 15 cable is listed as compatible with the Drivesmart 51, but it output's proprietary data packets for Fleet management software. It does this by converting what ever data is coming out of the Drivesmart 51 LMT-s. Based on this, there is data coming out but can it also be converted to NMEA using the Power Data Cable, 010-11131-00. Hoping someone out there has tried this.

I pretty sure non of the Drivesmart / Nuvi / Zumo type satnavs output NMEA, it is rumored that the 'Fleet Management' satnavs use the Garmin communications protocol that most early Garmin handheld GPSs called 'Garmin/Garmin' mode. There is discussion on the net that 'some' satnavs will allow this protocol when enabled in the hidden Diagnostic menu, but it is not a constant steam of data like NMEA, the user would send a request such-as 'get_postition' and get a one-of waypoint type reply

GPS Babel has some doumentation here :-
