Drive smart 55 with traffic and drive smart app

Just replaced my old 2599 with a drive smart 55 with traffic. GPS seems to work fine my problem is with the app. It’s recognizing my phone, I get the weather and traffic ok. But when I type a place to send to the gps it just shows a U.S. map for a second and then nothing. Nothing happens. And that’s in the garage with Wi-Fi connected and right by the gos unit. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. First post on this forum.

Does the Drivesmart 55 know where it is ?, if it's in a garage it may still be trying to get a satellite fix, I would take the satnav outside
