Drive50lwt won't charge when I plug it into the computer

    Are you using a known good cable ?, does the Drive 50 charge when using the the supplied car adapter?

    Hi Speed 210,
    I did answer the first question in post #3 - I use a Garmin cable and the second question was not apropos as I was plugging into the computer. I use Garmin cables for car and computer but I was referring to the computer in the thread Title.
    In fact sometimes the Garmin cable doesn't work in the computer although lately it does.

    Q1 : Are you using a known good cable ?

    I was asking if you knew the cable was in good working order, you didn't answer that in post #3 but you did in post #5, you say "sometimes it doesn't work", so don't use that cable, use a known good one

    Q2 : does the Drive 50 charge when using the the supplied car adapter ?

    I know you were plugging into the computer but you was using a faulty cable, this question was intended to get you to try a different cable and a different power supply, just in case the power supply on the computer wasn't capable of charging your Drive 50
