DriveSmart 76 Permanent Mount

Hi

I'm looking at Drive Smart 76 but want a self-adhesive (not suction cup) mount - is there one available?
The 010-10747-02 keeps coming up in searches, but it's not listed as compatible with 66/76/86

The 'Portable Friction Mount' 010-11280-00 is too big for where I want the unit positioned although it and the '10747' are both compatible with a lot of other devices, so I assume the ball is the same size.

Any idea why the 010-10747-02 won't work with a Drive Smart 76?
I tried speaking to Garmin, but they only have a compatibility list, no info on issues.

As far as I can see the '747' is still a suction mount, the only difference is that it is supplied with 2 self adhesive plastic disks so that you can attach a disk to the dashboard and then 'suction' the mount to the disk, as the DriveSmart 76 will supplied with a standard suction mount you would only need to purchase the disks separately, here are 2 products :-

The 747-02 isn't suction (the 747-00 is), the base has a locking lever to stop the 'release' button being pressed accidentally.
Same system is used on one of their other mounts;

This is the 747 suction, but that's apparently not compatible with the 66/76/86 either

I think the answer is the size of the 76, the Zumo 660 is compatible with the '747-02' but it is only 136mm wide whereas the 76 is 173mm wide an inch and a half is quite a lot bigger

The Drive Track 70LM is compatible with the 747-02 and that's 189mm Wide

At 306g it's also nearly 60g heavier than the DriveSmart

In that case I would go with the 747-02, as far as I know all Garmins use the same 17mm 'ball', but I'm sure you would rather have a recommendation from Garmin rather than 'some bloke on the net', I would

Cheers - There's no logical reason it wouldn't work, just seems strange they've re-tooled the suction mount but not the fixed version

Hopefully, it's just Garmin's compatibility lists which needs attention - The 747 Suction will, apparently, work with the Drivesmart 66, but the 747 fixed won't

The problem I have is I haven't bought the 76 yet as I want a static mount for it, so I'll 'rent' it all from Amazon first I think
