On my bicycle, I use a Garmin Edge 800.
The maps I use are the Europe set. City navigator(R) Europe NT. I purchased lifetime updates.
At home I use a mac to service the Garmin. Every time the maps are updated, I download to the mac a new file containing the maps. This goes into a certain folder of the mac. I ca see these files either from the finder or from the Garmin software called Garmin MapManager.app.
After downloading the updated maps to the mac, I need to install them on the Garmin with Garmin MapInstall.app. Each time, I instruct Mapinstall to replace the old map with the new one. It does it, on the Garmin.
All the old maps remain on the mac and eat up a huge space I could have a better use for.
Is there any reason I should keep these old maps ?
If I want to delete the old versions, what is the process I need to follow ?
TIA
