My wife bought me the yellow etrex basic handheld by Garmin and I am wondering if I can download a topo map program to it so I can see more of what I am trying to see as I use it. I live in the National Forest in Missouri and use it on the fire breaks on my atv and would like to see what I am getting myself into before I get there.

The basic Garmin Xtrex is only a track plotter so you can only see the track you have take to get where you are.
What you need for a chart or map is a chart plotter and that is the next model up.
