Etrex Vista C unable to remove/over write map

    Hi Good People at GPS Forums

    I have a Etrex Vista C that has a map uploaded to it

    I have tried the "hard reset" and tried to upload another map to it. I get an error that there is insufficient storage space yet the map is smaller than the available space

    I tried to re-write the firmware to the unit but that gives errors as well

    any help appreciated

    Hi

    I have tried both Basecamp and Mapsource. I am now trying GPSBabel on a Ubuntu and that is not working any better :(

    Ok, Ubuntu did not work either, I can see the device but not the storage

    thinking the next option is to get a Garmin GPSMAP 64S and retire the Vista
