What is the difference between these two units? The Garmin website
doesn't seem to know about the CX but Amazon sells it.

    It has a page:

    http://www.garmin.com/products/etrexVistacx/

The difference is the Cx has a color display and also uses a microSD
card for expansion memory. The next step up would be the 60/76 Cx/CSx,
those have the SiRF III chip set. The 60/76 "x" series are arguably the
best handhelds on the market (same hardware and software, different
cases and button layout). The speed and sensitivity that the SiRF III
gives the receiver is almost breathtaking if your used to the earlier
    models.

If you go to the product page:

    http://www.garmin.com/outdoor/products.html

and use the Product Comparison (upper left menus), that is a good way to
    compare the features on those.

Thanks, Jack. Very useful pages. In the meantime, I also found that you
can do a lot of comparison using REI's tool at rei.com.
