I took a chance and purchased a Garmin 255W GPS with a firmware problem.
When the unit powers up, the Garmin logo appears for a few seconds then it immediately jumps to the screen calibration mode. Several work-arounds were attempted: unplugging the battery, resetting by touching various points in the screen while turning on the unit, etc. Nothing has worked nor will a computer recognize the Garmin via the USB cable.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
