Garmin Charging cord hole

    Hello
    I have 3 car Garmin GPS . Each charging cord has a hole in it in the center rectangular section of the cord.
    What is that for?

    Is it related to updating ror resetting anything in the system?

    You would need to supply more detail, what is the model name / number of the Garmin unit ?
