Garmin Drive Smart 65 & Traffic - Screen Won't Turn On

We bought a new Garmin Drive Smart 65 & Traffic GPS a little over one year ago. We only used it a few times over the last year, but it has worked fine each time. We were recently using it in our truck and the screen went black. We have not been able to get the screen to turn back on. We still occasionally hear voice instructions from the GPS, so we know it is on; but the screen stays black.

We've tried leaving it plugged in, plugged it into a different vehicle, using a different cord and doing the manual reset, but the screen stays black.

Any ideas? I guess our next step is to contact Garmin. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would say the problem is likely to be that the ribbon cable connecting the display to the main PCB has a bad connection, a possible fix would be opening the 65, disconnecting the ribbon cable and re-connecting the cable, there are videos detailing how to open the unit e.g. :-
