When navigating through a minefield in the dark with proximity alarms, when viewing the chart, an alarm radius is displayed. When you cross over the border of the proximity alarm, the proximity alarm sounds and the screen goes to blank white screen with the message that you are approaching the waypoint.
It sure would be nice if Garmin left the chart display intact instead of blanking it out. Now I've got to press buttons to get the map to display so I can avoid the mines.
Why blank out the map just because the proximity alarm goes off?
In my specific application, the "mines" are submerged tree stumps in the lake.
