Garmin Oregon 450 will not turn on when battery cover is on

My Garmin Oregon 450 will not turn on when battery cover is on. Anyone have this problem and a solution? I think the alkaline batteries are too big because it will start with batteries in and cover off. eBay purchase.

Solved >> I took apart the Garmin Oregon 450 and two very thin and movable copper connectors were touching each other. Closing the latch on the back cover caused the two connectors to connect better, not letting the Garmin start. I believe the connectors have something to do with charging installed in chargeable batteries

The Oregon 450 doesn't charge batteries, the Oregon 600 does though, I'm guessing the very thin connectors are for a microSD card, non of them should be touching each other



Is the metal cover missing ?
