    Hi Everyone

I am having problems with my Garmin Tourer Plus One. I use it in our Land Rover Freelander 2 which has a heated front windscreen.
The problem we have is can take upto 10 - 15 miles or twenty minutes to log onto a Satellite which is not acceptable.
I have read that front windscreen heaters can effect or block the gps signal. Once it logs on it is fine, so:
    1. can I fit an external GPS aerial to this model
    2. Will it make any difference

I'm guessing your satnav is the Avtex Tourer One Plus (powered by Garmin), if so it is not possible to add an external antenna to this model, it has been reported that GPS reception is better around the edges of a heated windscreen, presumably because the heating elements don't go to the edge of the glass
