Not sure if anyone can help me but I'll ask anyway!

I'm trying to understand how GPS using carrier phase works. I understand
that the satellites are tracked in space as they move so that something to
do with the number of wavelengths between the satellite and the reciever
can be done. However I don't understand what is done! What is carrier
phase ambiguity? Someone help me please!

    Thanks a lot

  2. I'm not sure if this document helps you out but check out
    http://www.helge.net/download/gpsuser.pdf - it's an old document
describing the GPS system in detail.
