Should I take back what I said about tracking rented cars?

My uncle's friend partly owns a Car Rental Service in our town, and I suggested my uncle about tracking rented cars for business and safety purposes. My uncle liked this idea and he is gonna share this to his friend soon.

Should I take back what I said about using GPS tracker on rented cars? I also want to know any opinions about this matter.

I would say that although the owner of the hire car is allowed to fit trackers to his vehicles, he should not be tracking them while they are on hire, only if the car is not returned after the hire period, should he be allowed to track the car

Car rental services use tracking devices to make sure of timely retrievals. If a car doesn't come back when the rental period is expired, the owners can track the car and recover it if necessary. Other than that, even though owners are entitled to use GPS trackers on their own vehicles, tracking a car while it is rented by someone is unethical and can be very damaging for your business.
