Whenever I turn my GPS62 on at the start of my hike it always starts the track from my home location. Why does it do this? I just want to turn the device on and start my track from the beginning of my hike and at the end of my hike I turn the device off. I am using Basecamp to download and view my hikes.

    Thanks Will

My guess would be that when the unit is first turned on it uses it's last known location (your home), until it gets a new GPS satellite fix, If you turn off tracking at the end of each hike with Page >> Tracks >> Track Log Off and only turn it back on at the beginning of a new hike, it should not include your home location because the new track sould not start recording until you get a 'fix' at your current location.
