Help: Oregon 600 Maps

    Hi:

    I'm am new to Garmin GPS' and hope that someone can provide some advice. I have a brand new Oregon 600. I've downloaded some free maps and installed using the Basecamp mapinstall utility. Using Windows, I can see the .img files are installed on the SD card in the GPS. But when I look at the 'User Data' file on the Memory card using Basecamp, there's nothing there. The maps are visible in Basecamp (under the map tab) but i'm not clear how to call them up on the device. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

    OK, figured it out! The SD card was formatted as exFAT. reformated as FAT, reinstalled the maps and now everything is working.

    Pretty goofy that neither Basecamp or the 600 itself warned me about the formatting not being right.
