    Good Morning

By accident my etrex 30 got reformatted. The firmware is still the version 4.10 but I lost many files included in the Garmin root folder.

The device is not detected by Garmin Express.
In Basecamp it is detected as a USB key / storage device but not as a GPS.

I was thinking that I may try to reload a backup but I don't have any.

Do you have any idea how I could reset it to a gps device or get somebody's else etrex 30 backup file so I can upload it

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

    Maybe service?

Garmin has a service dept in Kansas City - sorry I tried to post the link but the forum wouldn't let me

These guys may be able to assist.

Good point though, I wonder if there is a way to back up the OS and all data from a GPS to mass storage?

    regards
    David

This forum is too quiet for you query - i suggest you post in forums.gpsreview.net where more active help is available. I don't know the solution however but i believe there is a way to reinstall all except for the maps you may have lost.
