I have a Magellan Roadmate 3030-LM and I want to install custom maps for it since I can’t get new updates from smartgpseco.com anymore. I was on openmapwiki’s website and I saw instructions for how to make a Magellan .imi file (which is the format of the map file on my Magellan Roadmate), so I followed the instructions and made one of Greenland and another of Mexico using maps from Geofabrik’s website. However when I installed the .imi map files both into the internal memory of my Magellan and also into a microSD card the Magellan couldn’t detect them in the Regions section of the Settings menu. I copied the preinstalled .imi map file on the Magellan onto my computer as well as the .mgi base map file to compare them with the .imi file I made to see how I can make the ones I made compatible with my Magellan GPS, but I don’t know what I can use to open the files. Can anyone help me with this?
