Howdy, y'all.

I've been using my trusty 76CSx for hang gliding since about 2007.
Last year, i had a really bad crash and broke the screen - the outer glass seems ok,but the LCD is done for.
At long last, I'm now feeling recovered enough to try fixing it.
I could just buy a replacement off eBay, prices range from about $90 to $200.
But replacement screens are much cheaper - only $30

But i can't find any info anywhere on how to remove and replace the LCD screen - can anyone tell me how to do it?

The closest i've found is this Youtube video
Code:
youtube zwzItg1WUP8
but that's for a Garmin 62, which is quite different to the 76

Many thanks for any help y'all can offer

Well, this is embarrassing...I hadn't actually watched that video before i started this new thread...now i have and discovered that it's just about changing the outer screen cover, not the actual LCD screen itself...
so it really isn't relevant at all...

But i am still on the look out for any help i can get on how to replace the LCD screen in my 76CSx

It looks like there at least 3 different screens to choose from, so I guess you would need to take the 76CSx apart before you order the new screen in order to determine which one you need, this does give you an opportunity to assess if you can remove (and replace) the LCD screen before you spend any money on it

Thank you, that's the plan, the problem is I can't figure out how to get it open!
I've removed all the screws but I can't see where/how to now get it opened up.

Does anyone need have any suggestions on how to get it open?

Thnx.

As the GPSMSAP76CSx is a marine unit with GPS IPX7 waterproof rating it may be sealed with silicon rubber on the joints, all I can suggest is ensuring ALL screws are removed (look for hidden screws in battery compartment / under rubber trim etc.) and then try to prise the case apart, there is a newer marine GPS unit here which may have the same seal profile :-

Thnx
Unfortunately that model is very different to the 76CSx, and I'm still stuck trying to get it open...
