Is it possible to transfer a TOPO US 24k map on a microSD to the internal drive on a Montana 680t?

The gps reads the card fine but I would like to free up the slot for more storage and load that map to the internal drive. Basecamp recognizes the sd and that data on a computer file, but won't transfer.

If you can connect the 680t to a computer running Basecamp and 'see' the topo map in Basecamp, it may be possible to install the topo map files onto the computer hard drive so that Basecamp can use the topo map when the 680t is not connected to the computer, if you get that far you could then remove the microSD from the 680t, connect it to the computer and send the topo map to the internal memory of the 680t using the Basecamp map install feature

When trying to load it back to the gps, I get a popup that says the file doesn't contain any data. But basecamp reads it ok.

I ended up just copy and pasting the files from the SD to the Garmin file while both were separately plugged into the computer. They show up on the garmin now without the sd. Not sure why basecamp is not transferring them. Mike

There was a problem with Basecamp version 4.7.0, where it wouldn't transfer 3rd party maps, if you have this version then downloading a newer version may fix the problem
