    Hi,

I recently bought my daughter a gps watch (Wonlex GW900)..

The first day all the features worked perfectly, however 2 days ago the watch started displaying a "set tone" message followed immediately with a "please wait" message which I can't seem remove (or prevent from displaying), it won't even let me switch off the phone. Funny thing is, phone calls to the watch is works even in this state.

    A couple of other observations:

    - When I turn on the watch (with the SIM card), it works fine for a couple of minute. (Whether I am interacting with the watch or not)
    - When the sim is not in the device the message does not display.

I realise this might not be gps specifically related, but this is the only forum where I have seen decent advice on gps smartphones.

Any help, advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, can you please advise if you got a quick fix for this? I contacted Wonlex and they said that they could not help me :(

    Hi Joy,

I haven't heard back from them. However, I took a chance and swapped out the sim card to a different provider. After which, the watch worked perfectly.

    Good luck!

    Hi Hanja,

I initially had an MTN sim as well. I switched to Vodacom prepaid (cost me R10), and it immediately worked.

I haven't really used the health tracker, so can't really comment on that.

    Good luck!
