Lane Assistant - 265W

I have Garmin 265W. It had problem with the cable which has the traffic receiver so I replaced it with standard cable with no traffic receiver. It works fine with me since I bough it.


My question is how can I add ‘Lane Assistant’ feature. Is there an upgrade, firmware, or specific file to add/delete to get it?


I have another newer Garmin GPS that has all features. Can I use some of the files there to copy to the new one to enable this feature?


I have not done that much work to the GPS other than adding new North America maps to SD card and use it in my 265W.

Lane assist is 'built-in' to maps, so can only be added/removed by changing the map, here is a reply from Garmin about North American maps,

"Please note, these full-version maps DO NOT contain premium content such as Lane Assist and Junction View. These features only are available on the preloaded maps within your device or through a specific update for the mapping region of your device."

Junction View is supplied with maps as a *.jcv file, but this does not contain Lane View info.
