Just updated both my Garmin Nuvi 2595's. Now most of the voice commands no longer work with the following error displayed: "This feature is not available in Canada for American English"

Note that the Garmin support site explicitly states that this should work in Canada.

Does anybody know how I can roll back the software?? Any other work-arounds?

    Thanks in advance

Roll back is possible if you can get hold of the *.gcd file, but the procedure is not without risk, if you try to install an incompatible file or downgrade fails half way through you could render your GPS completely useless, there are some older versions of Garmin files here :-

    https://archive.org/download/Garmin_Nuvi_Firmware_Archive_Perry_Mirror,

The files you want may be these :-

    2023-12-18_16.09.51.jpg

BUT you must confirm yourself that these are the correct files, your current file should be stored at :-

    /.System/GUPDATE.GCD

note that .System is a hidden folder so you may have to get your computer to display hidden files / folders, if this file exist on your 2595 you should back it up to your computer as it contains the current software version, when downloading a previous version it will be called something like :- nuvi2595_780.gcd the 780 here is the version number, the file must be renamed to GUPDATE.GCD and then it replaces the file of the same name in your 2595 .System folder, you will get a warning that you are loading an older version when you power on the 2595 and after a delay the unit will re-start with the older software

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK !!
