Good afternoon all, I have been having trouble with the navigation screen on my Garmin Oregon650. Whenever I am out on a hike I just walk off the screen, my position does not stay central on the device like it is supposed to. I can't find anything in the user manual to stop this happening. Can anyone advise please.

Does your 650 plot a blue Track when you walk showing where you have been ?, if not Select [three horizontal lines] > Setup Tracks > Record Method > Auto, it may be that if Track logging isn't triggered then the 650 does not know you are moving

Thank you for your response. Yes it does show a blue track and my track set-up RecordMethod is set to Auto. I am really confused as to why I follow my route and my icon tracks along its path but the map doesn't move with me, I just walk off the screen? It's really annoying.

I would suggest a factory reset, eg:- Setup >> Reset >> Reset All Settings >> Yes, please note that this will erase all Tracks, Routes, Waypoints etc., so if you want to keep them you need to copy them to a computer before the reset

If you have multiple maps on your 650 I would also suggest that you disable all the maps and then re-enable a single map
