I have a future project coming up. I want to track the routes of a local bus service here in Indonesia. There are more than a hundred routes and very little published data. I intend to write a kind of A to Z tourist guide map using the local bus service.

I figure a hand held GPS unit would be the most painless way to record the routes and later transfer the information onto a master map.

Excuse my ignorance. I owned a Garmin a few years ago, but it was stolen. I cannot recall such a feature, but I wasn’t looking for it either. From using the search, I guess this is called track logging or trip logging.

Do all GPS units have such a feature, if not, which models should I be looking at?

Is there a computer map software that the data will upload onto and display the routes, this could possibly solve my map problems too?

Help and/or advice will be gratefully received.

Doesn't anyone answer questions on this forum. Surely this is not that difficult!
