Map Transfer ?

    I have a garmin GPSMAP 64S, garmin 24K topo of southeastern states on a 4gig sd card. question is: can this be copied to a larger sd card like a 16gig? I know sometimes these are locked and can not be copied or transferred. I bought the topo maps online from a private source not garmin.

    You can check on the 'lock' status of your maps using Garmin Basecamp, using :- Maps >> Manage Map Products i.e. :-

    If you have a status of Unlocked or Not Lockable you should be able to transfer the maps, there is also a Unlock Regions tab that (I Think), requires internet access to work.

    If transferable, the files can be loaded into Basecamp so that the maps can be used without the GPS being connected to the computer and then installed onto a new MicroSD card in the GPS using :- Maps >> Install Maps
