Marine Software update on GPSMAP® 86sc 010-02235-02

Hi,

Looking to get a new GPS as my Montana his bit the bullet.
I was looking at this :-

With the Bluechart G3Marina Maps as opposed Topo standard maps.
I assume when you first connect the Garmin to register it, the loaded software will be updated, is that a correct assumption?
