Montana 600 broken on/off switch

I have had a Garmin Montana 600 for years and it has been a brilliant piece of kit. However, I had an accident with it recently and the switch cover has disintegrated and the internal electrical on/off component has broken away from the circuit board. I know that I can replace the cover but what can i do to get it to turn on and off again. Does anyone have any ideas?

The only option I can think of is to contact Garmin, but I don't hold out much hope of them repairing it, the best you can hope for is a discount on a replacement unit
