Please help! I have a Garmin 74DV Chartplotter that has all my favorite offshore fishing spots. I want to transfer those waypoints into my laptop using Google Earth. I've followed all the instructions but had no success. I used a micro-chip, formatted it and inserted it into the chartplotter. Copied the data to the sd card. Fro there, opened Google Earth, went to tools>GPS>import. Nothing happened. I've tried this several times...still no luck. Sounds like a simple operation, but must be something I'm missing or not doing. Can someone please give me a hand here, it's getting pretty fustrating.

I think the step you are missing is to select "Import From File", The Device = Garmin is for extracting files directly from the GPS unit, If you select Import From File you will be able to select the location of your GPX file on your computer and then click on Import, you will then see a message like the one on the left, eg:- Loaded 6 Waypoints
