I have an old Garmin GPS V that I am trying to get updated maps on. It currently only has the base map system that came with it. I have a Garmin City Select North America v7 CD, but when trying to load it to Basecamp it says there is no previous version. Can someone help me with getting the new maps loaded?

Have you installed the City Select North America v7 map onto any other Garmin unit ?, if yes, then Basecamp should 'see' the map while this unit is plugged into the computer running Basecamp, you should then be able to check the lock status of the map in Basecamp, it may be that you only have a licence to load the map onto a single unit
