I have an older Nuvi 1490 and a couple of Nuvi 2597's. I've had to change the 1490's battery twice and it's touchscreen grid once. Still working great. I'm in my late 50's and I find the 1490's graphics much easier to see. It's the color scheme and contract on it that are way better than the 2597. The 2597's screen is busier, has smaller graphic elements, thinner fonts and an overall pastel look to it's colors. The 1490 has rich green, violet, blue, etc. Nothing pastel about it. The lighter colors and smaller graphic elements of the 2597's are much harder for an old guy to see. Do any of the newer Garmins have those rich high contrast graphics like the 1490 had?
