I've noticed that it consistently takes a long to to get the satellites. Doesn't matter the weather. I live on Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada.

Does the Drive 50 get a fix quicker than the 2557 when in the the same position inside the car ?, any satnav will take longer to get a fix the first time if it hasn't been turned on recently

Thanks, Sorry for the delay, I didn't see a reply sent to me.

I seem to notice that the two have the same issue, but I can be careful as I use the two randomly. Some times I never get the satellites.

If both units are slow to get a fix when in the car I would suggest trying them outside the car and in a different car or position, if they then get a fix quicker this would point to lack of satellite signal inside the car, this can be due to having a heated front windshield or something else blocking the signal

My wife and I move different vehicles around the Southeast for our local dealer. The previous generation of Suburbans that adjust wiper speed automatically interfered if GPS was mounted too close to mirror.
