I loaded some prepared .img's from OSM in my Nuvey 3490 LMT. They work more or less ok, but there are flaws, such as lagging behind in showing my position on those maps. Sometimes the Garmin even crashes and I have to reboot. What experience does GPS Forums have in this matter?

OSM maps are considerably more detailed than Garmin's standard maps, so there will be more data to handle, however I can't say I've noticed any 'position lag'. I'm not sure how Garmin handles two maps of the same area being enabled at the same time, but I always disable any other maps so there is only ever one map enable at a time, I've also noticed that when switching back to Garmin maps (from OSM) that some details were not displayed i.e. the Speed Warning icon in the lower left corner of the map screen, this has always been corrected after a full power off
