Hi, first time posting and hoping someone can give me an answer. I unknowingly bought an older garmin gps map 546s that no longer is supported by garmin as it it over 15 years old, I wasn’t aware and am new to these kind of units. After searching all over I’ve yet to find an answer to my problem. The gentleman I bought it from I suspect knew it was outdated. It did work briefly when he showed it to me and when I got at home, it worked for about a minute next time I powered it up says transfer failed and I cannot get past that screen, I will include a screenshot below, any ideas on how I can solve this issue?

It sounds like the unit is faulty and should not have been sold to you in that condition if the seller claims it is working, I would return it to the seller for a refund

Agreed, seller claims it worked when he sold it too me, which it did, briefly…refusing to give refund
Lesson learned for me I suppose

That's a difficult one to call, either you have done something to stop the unit working or the unit was (and still is) only working intermittently / under certain circumstances, eg :- when it's cold, hot, fully charged supplied by external power etc.
