    Hi,

    Mio m405 (dated somewhere 2010)

Is it possible to upload fresh map data, from say openstreetmap, into this device?

The MIO's operating system is Windows CE, as far as I am aware the Open Street Maps have not been produced in a format that can be directly loaded into the MIOs, however it may be possible to install a compatible operating system that can run OSM maps, there is a link here :-

    Mio Pocket (WinCE unlock)

Having unlocked your Mio with Mio pocket, you should be able to run Navit (see link)

    http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/WinCE

Then download OSM maps in Navit format from here :-
