My RV came with a Garmin Vieo RV-851 GPS/stereo system. I have the updated it to the latest software, v3.4. I have the latest BaseCamp v 4.7.4 and the latest Garmin Express 7.15.2.0. Both BaseCamp and Vieo are running City Navigator North America NT 2023.2

I also have a Zumo XT that I use with my motorcycle. I have over 1,000 waypoints in BaseCamp along with hundreds of routes. I download routes from BaseCamp to the Zumo all the time. No issues.

Problem: I can not seem to download routes/points from BaseCamp to the Vieo. I know the computer sees the Vieo as I can navigate to the internal storage of the Vieo and see a variety of file folders. So I'm connected to the computer, but BaseCamp says I have no device connected. That is, select a route (or folder etc) in BaseCamp, go to Device / Send to Device / Send Selection. Response back from BaseCamp is "There are no devices connected to BaseCamp".

I'm counting on being able to download routes etc from BaseCamp to this GPS for my RV. Otherwise I'll have to mount my motorcycle gps Zumo on the dash of a big RV....arrrgh.

    Help is appreciated!
    Cheers

It obviously isn't as convenient but there is still a way to get Routes from Basecamp into your Vieo, create new Routes or highlight existing Routes in Basecamp, then click on File >> Export >> Export Selection and save the Routes to your computer in a gpx file eg :- new-routes.gpx, then copy this gpx file to your Vieo placing the file in the internal memory folder /GPX, the new Routes will then be added to existing Routes and can be viewed in Apps >> Trip Planner

Thank you! I'll give it a go. I am going to call Garmin support after the holidays to see if there is a "clean" way to transfer. If not, I'm thankful to know of the way you suggest.

Our RV cockpit is wrapped around the driver. The RV851 is in a great position for me to see and I need that route available. My co-pilot / navigator / spouse of 50+ years can't see the 851 at all because of the cockpit "wrap". So I'm going to mount the Zumo XT and load the same route on it as on the 851, so she can do her nav duties.
    thanks again, and Merry Christmas!
